This 6-module, self-paced course includes:
- A foundation in implicit and explicit bias
- Real-world examples of microaggressions by race, gender, and sexual orientation in ministry
- Tools for recognizing and disarming microaggressions with practical interventions
- Theological grounding in compassion, belonging, and God’s vision of justice
- Reflection exercises and quizzes to deepen learning
By the end of this course, participants will not only understand microaggressions but also practice skills for repairing relationships and creating spaces where every person is valued as beloved in God’s image.
This course takes about three hours to complete. Because it’s self-directed, you’re free to start and stop as needed and learn at your own pace.

Rev. Enger Muteteke
Rev. Enger Muteteke, an ordained Elder in the Baltimore Washington Conference of the United Methodist Church, serves as Senior Director of Programs and Education at the General Commission on Religion and Race.

Rev. Dr. Christopher Carter
Rev. Dr. Christopher Carter is currently an Assistant Professor of Theology, Ecology and Race at Methodist Theological School in Ohio. Rev. Dr. Carter, an Elder in the California-Nevada Conference of the UMC, serves on the pastoral team of The Loft at Westwood United Methodist Church.

Dr. Seth Schoen
Dr. Seth Schoen serves as Adjunct Professor of Theology at the University of San Diego. His research and interests focus on exploring how the Compassion Practice and critical race and racial formation theories mutually inform each other to create an anti-racist spiritual path of renewal and transformation.
